Shalom, my late father Lawrence Patrick John Burtenshaw was a Faugh.
Dad was stationed in Malta during the siege then captured in Leros. Dad was a POW in Stalag 11b. Dad never really shared his experiences. Being Jewish he protected his family from the Jew hater which still today is prevelant across western countries. Dad suffered severe PTSD. Always associated with Germans. Interestingly my late nan was a German Jew so history may provide explanation to dads PTSD!
I would welcome any information relating to my dad. His life is like a jigsaw.

my father would say that all the time when one of us kids were in the way or he was driving, makes me chuckle when I hear it.
Your father absolutely had an awful time of it, although he seems to have had after war issues with PTSD I am very glad he survived.
Unfortunately I don't do any kind of research or look-ups but I can certainly keep my eyes peeled for the name. Burtenshaw, it's not your run of the mill name so easy to 'keep in mind' if anything pops up I'll let you know but watching the 'NEW' page on my site is where I list every single item as I add them, you can find it on the front page of my site.
